The Cultural Fire Management Council (CFMC) is sponsoring a prescribed burn training opportunity (TREX) in Northern California. CFMC would like to invite interested individuals to participate in this Type III incident that supports cultural resource management (acorns, basket weaving materials, medicine plants, and prairie restoration). The training will incorporate knowledge from the local tribes and develop understanding about traditional and contemporary use of prescribed fire. Participants will increase their firefighter qualifications serving in NWCG qualified and trainee firefighting positions.

The deadline to submit the application to participate in this cultural burn training event is September 1, 2017.
